90% of the world’s population suffers from oral diseases in their lifetime even in today’s time, thus the eradication of infectious diseases and precautionary measures for various illnesses must be aimed. Many of them can be avoided with increased governmental, health association and society support and funding for prevention, detection and treatment programmes that must be organized at every level of the society to socialize the motto of Oral Health and its importance in the long run.

World Health Organisation recognizes such dogma and thus 20th March is credited as the World Oral Health Day. This day recognizes the benefits of a healthy mouth for a better living as the theme suggests this year “Healthy Mouth Healthy Body” soone must focus on educating the youth and the elderly the benefits of maintaining oral health to subside the oral associated illnesses that harm the body concurrently.

In addition, World Oral Health Day offers the dental and oral health community a platform to take action and help reduce the overall disease burden. Various harmful products like tobacco should be banned from the community to give a better environment to survive and in turn prevent the deterioration of the oral health and the overall health in total.
